Sometimes A Beginner

If you never started anything new, life would be very boring.

You don't have to be perfect. Not the 82nd time, and certainly not the first time.

Quit striving for absolute perfection. Give it your all, put in the effort and work, and be content knowing you're doing good.

Otherwise, you'll never try new things.

And new things can be wonderful! The beginning of passion. The bringing of joy.

"Don't worry, you'll get it! Keep trying." ....that's what we tell our kids when they are starting out on something new. Give yourself the same grace.

New job. New hobby. New idea.

Perfection doesn't happen right away. Don't let that scare you. Just try it. Do it. Begin it. Get better at it.

And for goodness sake, recognize where you are at in the process, and embrace it. You don't start out as an expert ... But you might become one if you stick through the process instead of giving up because you didn't nail it the first try.

Beginnings aren't always easy, but they certainly carry their own brand of magic.
